Tree Gala 2010

One of my great friends is involved with fundraising for the Boys & Girls Club Aid Society, which is an amazing organization! Every year they hold a big fundraiser where they decorate trees and auction them off. Leanna was kind enough to find us some tickets, so we could join her for this amazing event! I have to say thank you to her, because it was such an awesome night.

The day started with Billy taking his LAST FINAL! That's right folks. Billy is DONE with law school. It seems so surreal he won't be going back to school after Christmas, but I can't say I'm sad about it.

Can you tell how happy we were? Those smiles are smiles of relief over years of stress! Yes, we still have a bit more stress to go, however, the next few weeks were worry-free. Can't wait to go back to this fundraiser next year :)

Halloween and The Jersey Shore

Yes, I am over a month late. Better late than never, right?

So I was really excited for Halloween this year, because it's the first year since I was a kid that I was actually excited for our costumes. We went as the Jersey Shore. I was Snooki, Billy was The Situation, and Ethan was the Situation, Jr. GTL, dude.

Party in the HOUSE!!

Tara went as her husband, and she made a pretty good looking guy. Notice how close we are sitting..

Ethan scoping out for the guidettes. He was in luck. Plenty of ladies!

One of my Favorite Things..

Did anyone just sing "These are a few of my favorite things"?! 'Cause I just did. Back to what I was saying..

You know how kids drink water? When they gulp and gulp and gulp, and then remember they need to breathe? So then they GASP like they've been running a marathon? And then they do it all over again..

Whenever I am lucky enough to see my son do it, I can say I cherish those moments.

I'm Thankful For...

A roof over my head. I know it's odd, but this is something I'm thankful for every night in my evening prayers. If anyone knows me, they know camping is NOT my style! I really don't know how the pioneers did it. I need running (hot) water, a toilet that flushes, a comfortable mattress, comfy blanket, and a roof over my head to protect me from nature. So thankful I was born today in America, which has given me the opportunity to be as spoiled as I am - even if it's in a teenie apartment!

I'm Thankful For...

Vacation!
This rainy day has me off in la-la land dreaming about our cruise next March (the 19th, to be exact). After a gloomy day spent inside doing housework, I could really use a massage overlooking a vast ocean. You could also throw in some palm trees, snorkeling, zip lining, and some Virgin Islands! Yes please, I'll take it.

I'm Thankful For...

I'm thankful for my husband. Whatever, it's cheesy I know, but Billy is what keeps this big pile of crazy together! He's been through many of my ups and downs, and (most of the time) knows how to calm me down. Life is so much better when you have someone to share your experiences with! He's a great sounding board, a shoulder to cry on, someone to cuddle up next to at night, someone to hear my complain when I've had it at home, and he is my best friend. Thankful for this gift I've been given.

I'm Thankful For...

Today, I am thankful for this amazing weather. I figured I'd better post this one today, because it's going to start raining tomorrow - and who knows when it will stop? Having a little boy makes me appreciate warm temperatures and no rain so much more than I ever have. It makes it possible for us to go on walks and go to the park, giving mommy and son some much-needed get-out-of-the-house time. I know this beautiful day won't last, and I plan to make the most of it!

I'm Thankful For...

This little man! His precious kisses, the way he says "hello" (ehWOH!), How he is so obsessed with shoes, our special bonding time during time-outs, our walks that seem to stretch for miles, but really it's only been a few feet of aimless wandering. I'm thankful for how special he makes me feel when he holds my hand, or give me an unsolicited kiss, or puts his head on my shoulder and says "night night." Even though this is a tough age, I'm thankful for this gift I've been fortunate enough to have been given.
